Turn is a 5

why?

when he checked the turn I figured he didnt have an Ace and likely had a J or some QTish type hand he decided to try and pop me with on the flop, thought I could maybe get a bluff out of the latter, and a value bet out of the former when I checked the river.

i like betting out here, clarkmeister style. ive cn lots of calls here from 77-TT, but never a value bet from those hands as ure opponent has shown weakness with the turn check. i bet this out and prb fold to a raise depending on player, but most of the time i bf this river. it looks like he wanted the free card, and unless he has A4 ish and owns you, i would highly recommend betting river because ure going to get calld by a lot more hands than those that bet out - as for the cr, the formula (2*(chance he bets into you + calls your raise)) doesnt seem to apply (eg more profitable to bet out). anyone think im wrong in my assessment?

(apologies to ne1 who read this post 2x, acc posted it up top b4)

i don't know why but i thought he bet the turn. i still slightly favor a bet because he often has a flopped middle or bottom pair and will usually check that down. if you had say QQ on a K high board i would like it, since people will make thinner value bets knowing A high calls a lot

I understand the idea of checking to induce a worse hand to bet. But it still seems unlikely that a worse hand is going to call the c/r.
