Default Power Plate

The gym I attend has recently taken delivery of these machines.

I have read much of the hype and the celebrity endorsements but took them all with a pinch of salt.

However I tried a power plate class the other day and my mucles did feel physically tired after doing so and I am a little sore some 24hrs later.

Respected health and fitness posters, have you tried these machines ? What is your opinion of them ?

I am not thinking of dropping anything from my current regime, but I might start adding a 15 minute power plate class to my regime and look for some anecdotal evidence from there.

I'd love to try one of those. I wouldn't be surprised if it did some good, though I'm sure as with any fairly new idea, virtually any benefit might be ascribed to it, no matter how unlikely.

I was trying to find a picture of those old machines( i used to have one) that you put the belt around your waste and it would just shake your skin. Reminds me of that.

Yeah, those are crap. But these new ones have much finer, quicker vibrations that supposedly stimulate an increase in bone density(very big, to my thinking) and help relax you and get knots out. Some people just stand on them, but some do some sort of exercises. That's about all I can recall, except that they're very expensive, like from 2500 up to a few multiples of that.

Yes the pic is a Power Plate.

I googled around and found many complimentary pieces about them.
I went to the Power Plate web site and they have animated charcaters showing the different exercises and what they shoudl achieve, I am still a little sore after Tuedays session, but tomorrow will give it another go, perhaps trying out the 'massage' exercises.
