[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] My roomate bought the new Professional NL book, so I read it and I must say that I am very dissapointed. Anyone else here read it? [/ QUOTE ] Matthew, I had debated buying it but heard that it was not very good for anyone beating small stakes and up. I'm thinking if Bobbo get's his book published it will be the only decent book on the market for midstakes+ NL. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] There is an "if" ? [/ QUOTE ] It was recently rejected by 2p2 because they've committed to too many books. (Harrington on cash which should be more then 1 volume, the PNL series which is more then 1 volume, and HU book) So I need to contact other publishers. The news was a bit upsetting obviously so the question of when certainly has been replaced with if. It's still the money favorite to get published, but no longer a sure thing. Also, I liked PNL. After reading it though, I think what I say takes for granted everything in that book, so, yeah... It's fairly basic, and preaches some weak tight play, (ignores some costs and focuses on what I think is the "wrong" thing) but is a good book. [/ QUOTE ] If you really can't get it published, why not sell it as an e-book? Plenty of 2+2ers would be willing to pay for it, at least. |

Re: Official October Thread: General Discussion
i guess it contains bobbos coaching-syllabus, so ppl wont book him for this anymore. furthermore, e-books dont get nearly as much attention as real books do. i, for one, wouldnt buy it all tho im pretty sure its gonna be the best midstakes+ book out there.

Re: Official October Thread: General Discussion
if its published as an e-book, nope. i hate reading books/longer texts on the screen and i refuse paying some dollars and then having to print it out myself.

Re: Official October Thread: General Discussion
i get too unfocused easily and my eyes cant stand it. also, i dont see any reason why bobbo would ever do this. the largest income for the author regarding books with an extremely limited field of potential readers is the fee for finishing it/handing it in. the margin on single books is not what earns you the most. hence, i dont think e-book-publisher (lol?) payed even a fraction of what 2+2 publishing would and then i know lots of 2+2ers would buy it out of respect for bobbo, but most others would just go and download it from somewhere.
