Re: $225: KK, TP pairs board
[ QUOTE ]
Why is everybody not mentioning a possible set? As i said in my post before I think it's the most likely holding for villain. On a general note I noticed that this forum tend to underestimate sets while a limp/call UTG is almost always a mid pair rather then suited connectors. I really doubt villain is commiting that early with 88 here and TT wants a cheap showdown. [/ QUOTE ] As chip touched on, for the same reason people do not think that its a 9. |

Re: $225: KK, TP pairs board
I would just like to take this opportunity to vent about villians that hit their straight on the turn, + they still have a flush draw from the flop, and they open shove like 6x pot into my overpair on the turn. And get paid of course. WTF is that? It's not like they're scared of the flush hitting. Sheesh.

Re: $225: KK, TP pairs board
Darin, this looks like 89s or T9s to me. My reasoning.
It seems unlikely that a set would not bet or check/raise on that draw heavy flop. Also, his donk bet on the turn seems retarded with a full house. Some one mentioned that he might have hit both a flush draw and straight draw. That seems unlikely considering that a we are putting him on 89s or T9s and there's a 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on the board. If that's the case, he has to have 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (really?) or some thing like A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], seems possible. A bare flush or straight draw along with 88 is possible, and you are obviously beating those. I doubt he has a bare flush draw considering that he just called. Finally, he might have some thing like JJ, QQ or AA, but those hands should be scared with that kind of board too. |

Re: $225: KK, TP pairs board
If he has a 9 he's bad and will play draws like this as well. Also, unknowns very rarely bet like this with a set. I'd shove and be happy the games are still good.

I folded here but was pretty clueless. The large bet usually means strength. He said he bluffed me but I obviously don't know if he was telling the truth.

Re: $225: KK, TP pairs board
Luis,
Why do you think he has a set? Check call a really drawy board and than pot when you're hand becomes the nuts and has like 95% equity vs. Darinvg. As played I would shove he has a combo draw. |
