Default Bottom set + aces

No Reads, just sat down.
I never did that before. Should I never do this again?
Comments appreciated.

so was it 66 or jj that stacked you?

I don't like 4 bet by you; a minibet here might have given you more information...

some of the time your up against a str/flush combo draw; but then your only even money anyway...

its a classic slight fave or huge underdog coup; i imagine its the second in this case...

however playing bottom set is a tough play; sometimes you are happy to get it all in; other times you fold to one bet

Besides which; if you are going to get it all in, why not wait for a scary turn card that might very well put your opponent off of middle set?

If you are not quite sure where you are at try to look for other lines of play...not quite sure whether this is worth doing at 10/25c but still.

happy hunting

When UTG mini-reraises, I would fold.

He mini-reraised to put hero allin which is the same as betting pot. If hero was deep, villain would have potted.

Quoting from the hand:

UTG raises to $4

This is where hero folds.

Yes, but it becomes much easier if you raise full pot on the flop IMO.
