Default Best Laptop out there for $600-$800

I'd appreciate anybodies help with this...i'm not really clued up with computers at all but want to get the wifey the best laptop I can for my budget this xmas.

I looked at the dell inspiron 1520 (mainly cos it has a pink option ) But I hear theres massive delays when you order one of these.

It would only be for browsing the net and like storing digital photos and whatnot.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Those coupon codes rock, if you're into Dell pcs. I was about to buy one for $750, then I found a code for $300 off a $1000 order. A [censored] ton of extras later, I got a super beefed up laptop for $50 cheaper than I was about to pay for a lesser laptop. Just wished I hadn't been trying to quit WoW at the time, otherwise I may have got a decent graphics card.

To find out when that offer ends, you could go build a laptop on their site, then get to the end where you can apply coupons, and see if it tells you in the coupon details section.

If using that coupon, what I'd do is get the price to $901 and then cash out. Just barely go over the limit of what you need to spend to make the coupon work. But that's me and I'm a cheap bastard.

It should work on that pink one, as long as you get it costing over $899. And I thought they had an expected ship date on those when you started an order, or neared the end of it.

Core 2 Duo processor, T7xxx series if you can get in your price range, or T5xxx if not, 2GB of RAM, whatever HDD and other things you want.
