Default Johnny Hughes books and publications thread (for deacsoft & Admins)

I gave Johnny the okay to start a thread in Books and Publications to prommote his self-published poker novel. But, I told him you guys had the right to overrule me.

I might publish an excerpt from his novel in the December Magazine.

Here's the PM he sent me.

I don't want to spam. Also, I could send you a copy or a file of my novel, and you could tell me if there is any little part that you like for an excerpt for the mag. I mention two plus two positivly and mention the young guys give an old guy poster a hard time. smiley. I thought I would put something brief in books, maybe a couple of reviews??? What do you think???

Personally, I'm alright with it. I'm all about supporting the members of 2+2 who are trying to do some pretty terrific things, like writing a book. My only concerns are that other people may get the wrong idea about it. Someone might think that by allowing him to do so it's stamping some kind of 2+2 endorsement on it. And there's always the "well he did it why can't I?" However, I have no problem dealing with those people when/if they come.

Not sure if Mason feels differently. As far as I'm concerned, it's his call.

Hi deacsoft:

I think you have it about right. We should look at these things on a case by case basis, but try to remain flexible in our decisions.

Best wishes,
Mason

When he says "ofer for sale" he's now competing against our advertisers. So here the answer would be no.

Best wishes,
Mason

Gildwulf,

Can you tell me what happened with today's one day suspension of Johnny Hughes?"

yes, he spammed his book/website in the gobboyboy thread (basically just two sentences of response and then www.johnnyhughes.com). It's clear to any regular in bbv that we have a zero-tolerance spam policy. He got off pretty light.
