BTW as I understand raising for a free SD its raising turn in position and folding to a 3-bet or river donk (UI).

ok, me too btw.

But do you think raising as suggested is better than just calling?
I cannot really understand this one.

Ya, with the nfd I think its a standard raise/call for value. But I would prolly bet the river again

I don't know how you rank a quite loose and agressive? But if you expect him to check a club-river I like the raise on turn. If you don't catch the club you can check behind and if you catch it you get at least 1BB more from him. If you expect him to bet a club river there is less value in raising turn and risk getting 3-bet. Summary: the more passive he is, tend to raise turn, the more agressive, just call turn and call river when you don't improve.

looks like a pure value raise vs a LAG, I'd bet the river too

Raising isn't bad, raising for a FSD is pretty bad.

In fact, this example is from Weighing the Odds in Hold'em Poker (King Yao), p.210, "Raising on the turn for a free SD".

And I don't really understand why he wants to raise this turn.

Lol, I remember posting this hand almost two years ago.
