Based on feel though, you should be able to call with KK

Do explain.

Uh oh, here comes a "folding KK preflop is ok IF theres a deep fish at the table and you risk the chance to bust him."

lame!

I don't think we're getting enough extra EV from having a $2500 stack to justify it.

[/ QUOTE ]
You really think that having the extra $1500 on the fish isn't worth $185?

I have no idea what this has to do with anything.

It's just a comparison of preflop pot equity. You said you would fold being a slight favourite, yet would call if you were a greater favourite. That's it.

dj,

i think i am a bit more optimistic in my estimates of the situation that you are. whether im right or not, of course, is a different story.

it's hard to tangibly determine what scenarios would be likely for me to get 250bb into the pot with the fish is, and how often that would occur, but i think that the fish is more likely to make thin bets / calls against me BECAUSE i have a big stack, bc i think the fish is as greedy as i am. what i mean is that, when faced with a marginal flop or turn decision, it's more likely that the fish will do something stupid against me, than lets say a nit with only 1000 behind. i dont know if that logically makes any sense, but thats just what i think.

quantitatively, i somewhat agree with big jim. if i was 3:2 against the TAG's range, i think it makes it an instacall.

below that, then i think i have a decision. 55/45 might be a bit too thin for me to pass on, but this is all hypothetical anyway.

ok fine, then at what point would call?

[/ QUOTE ]

It depends on how fishy is the fish but I dont see how to give exact measure here.

basically the question is.. if you had a 1k stack, would u pay 1685 to get 1500 more, or about 12.3%, to cover the fish? holla

you are ignoring the fact that if you lose your 55/45 scenario or whatever, the tag will then cover the fish. thats also problematic.

most tags dont properly adjust to the fish being in the game. but that is def a factor, making this JJ seem like an easy fold, ASSUMING you know the fish will stay at the table until he stacks off. holla
