Re: Farha/Townsend stiff dealer?
Her newest post to her blog rips on the idea of Bellagio poker being private and that she could get fired for posting it publicly. Obviously, none of that is true, as expected.

ummm. They aren't high roller, they are poker players. A slot machine makes more money for the casinos than these two playing poker at this table. Unless they are big gamblers at other games. Either way, if they didn't tip the dealer who are they going to complain to? Giver her a $100 chip. cheap bastards [/ QUOTE ] And unless Linda has a contract, Bellagio doesn't need cause to fire anyone, and they will likely not fire her as the blog's been going forever. |

Re: Farha/Townsend stiff dealer?
Kudos to her for outing the stiffs. Especially the arrogant pricks who play the high limits, who are quick with the verbal abuse, but can't toss a competent, professional dealer a dollar. (If a dealer is really incompetent, that's a different matter.)

holy cow - final comment
This thread has gone nutso, but I have a few final comments.
Doug at the bellagio is well aware of tango poker and doesn't have a problem with it. Posts in the blog don't talk bad of the B, and don't give away "trade secrets." There aren't a whole lot of trade secrets to give away anyway. That being said, casinos, or more specifically the corporate jerkoffs that run them on the higher levels, are absolutely big brother all the way. [Name of corporation withheld], who operate casinos in vegas and elsewhere, is probably the most scumbag corp in the business. If some high level dirtbag decides they don't like you they will find reasons to fire you. All these companies make you sign a waiver saying they can fire you anytime the want to anyway, and scumbag central recently made all their employees re-sign it again. As for farha, his lacking on HEIGHT is not what makes him such a scumbag. And finally, as for flame wars, hey, I've been called a f** AND a womanizer in the same thread, for whatever gasoline that's worth pouring on the fire. Al P.s. TT's just pissed cuz his aces got cracked last week :-) |

Re: Farha/Townsend stiff dealer?
[ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure it could be argued in a court of law that disclosing customer habits without prior permission would be considered disclosing trade secrets. I'll call my lawyer and ask him for a legal opinion if your willing to pay his hourly fee [/ QUOTE ] I'll save you the fee and give away this highly prized legal insider info pro bono: Whether Linda got tipped is not a trade secret. Not that it matters. I'm not familiar with Nevada law in particular, but in most states employment contracts that are not for a definite duration are presumed to be "at will" and may be terminated by either party at any time for nearly any reason at all (other than race, sex, age, etc.). Brian can tip or not tip as he sees fit; Linda may blog about it or not as she sees fit; and Doug D. may fire her or retain her as he sees fit. |

Her newest post to her blog rips on the idea of Bellagio poker being private and that she could get fired for posting it [/ QUOTE ] I totally agree with this point,(Bellagio poker is not private) just because a dealer gave some details about the game and players dose'nt mean secrets are being let out. I've read details about this game from some of the actual players, and from people who were there watching. The following is from a blog of someone who was there and gives his opinion of Brian Townsend [ QUOTE ] The fun part of the night was to see Brian Townsend beat Johnny Chan and David B in one hand in PLO and watch Johnny and David both stand up and pace around the room talking to themselves and then just leave. That kid is on a sick rush. Brian talks about the hands in his blog. He seems like a very strange person to me however. He just sits there in his seat in Bobby’s room, does not talk to anyone, does not really seem to have any friends in the poker world, and shows no interest in talking to anyone. A very introverted person. I can’t quite finger it but he is just a little off. A very rich off. Good for him. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] |

Some people continue to miss this point, which is the only relevant one in the thread. Linda can do whatever she wants. There's no trade secrets here, not even close. But Doug and the folks at the B can fire her, just as they can fire any other at-will employee, whenever they feel like it. Period. It doesn't matter if it's right or wrong, and it doesn't matter if they have cause; they absolutely have the power to do so under the law without recourse. It's called "at will" for a reason. Only "protected" attributes (race, sex, age, etc.) transcend that. |

Re: Farha/Townsend stiff dealer?
Yes Doug can fire her, I have spoken with doug a few times and he seems more like a laid back middle aged fellow to me. I don't think he gonna fire her at all. Doug is not an azzhole. Again, I have only met him twice but both times he came across as laid back middle age fellow.
