Default Kyleb

I posted as a joke in this thread:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...ue#Post12407246

But then received a PM from the OP:

[ QUOTE ]
thanks for checking for me. i just want a response. i really dont care right now if he doesnt pay i just want a- hey dude im not going to pay you or a hey dude here it is but nothing man not a single response. kinda shady especially after how well he has done and his first promise to have it at the latest by wednesday

[/ QUOTE ]

So he thought I was serious. Cue attack of conscience. Notifying Kyleb of the existence of this thread and then washing my hands of it. Who is right or wrong is none of my business and I make no statement either way.

I posted the details in there: Basically I agreed to buy some poker/casino affiliate sites from him in principle, we negotiated over the price, several 2+2'ers backed out of investing in the project after we talked to an Internet gaming lawyer who advised us to either take it offshore or drop it entirely.

He's pissed off, and probably rightfully so, but I never signed anything that said I'd pay for his sites. I told him I'd get legal and financial counsel in the meantime, and if he got a better offer or wanted to sell quicker, he was free to do that.

I'd also like to say that I'm quite disappointed in adanthar for allowing a thread to go up of that nature and allow it to get derailed by someone who is essentially slandering me. There's no point in posting evidence or defending myself; I know how BBV and internet forums in general work - he who accuses first wins.

That being said, I know BBV/BBV4L enjoys drama, so I can't be too pissed. Whatever.

The way he portrays the situation is definitely false.

He could have received a better offer in the meantime while I raised capital and checked the legality of it and told me that he wanted more due to a higher bidder. I might be slightly mad as well, but that's well within his rights. He is essentially saying that I promised that I'd pay him and kept pushing him off because I was broke, which is ridiculous. He's mad because his affiliate business likely took a bath after the UIEGA regulations started tightening their grip and hoped he could unload it on me.

You entered a verbal agreement with a client that said you would buy something, and then went and did your research after the fact and backed out of said agreement. This at least you both agree on. Maybe not illegal in that state, but pretty sketchy business ethics, no?

I entered a verbal agreement to buy his websites and products if the financing and legal checks went through. They didn't.
