Default 200.6 oesd in 3bet pot

Villain is 25/15/2 (no reads/history except i have seen him 3bet [but more than min] twice and always fire a reasonable bet to take it down).

Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $1/$2 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $158.70
BB: $212.95
UTG: $318.25
Hero (CO): $208.55
BTN: $181.49

Preflop: Hero is dealt J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 Players)
UTG folds, Hero raises to $9.00, BTN folds, SB raises to $16.00, BB folds, Hero calls $7.00

Flop: ($34) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB bets $30.00

Who votes for push, who for fold? Anyone calls??

How's he been in blind defense? How are your images? Those are the most important questions, IMO. Shoving here screams a draw. Would you normally shove AQ/KQ? Unfortunately, you have no read on how he reacts on the turn, so just calling feels awkward when your implied odds aren't great.

Honestly, with your read on the flop, I'd probably just dump it preflop, unless you plan on taking the pot away postflop somehow.

push is ok...but not great. paired board lowers your equity somewhat, and if you shove, villain will likely call with most reasonable hands given how drawy the flop is. so your fold equity isnt so great either. still, i dont hate a shove.

having said that, this might be a good spot to float him. your outs are probably clean, and you can rep diamonds if you have to. or just take the pot away on the turn if he checks it to you. i dont hate a call either.

never fold this.

why would you ever push here?
are you bluffing (and if you are then what exactly is he folding that beats you)?
do you think youre value shoving?
are you trying to protect vs a 6 outer? (which could be a legit concern)
or???

edit - uhoh just realized hero has JT, not JJ. ignore what i wrote

its called a semi bluff

which answers your 2nd and 3rd question.

what hands does it fold out? this almost looks like a rhetorical question which is really saying "villain never folds."

but they do fold a % of the time. add that to oesd equity, and you might have >50%.

Given villain's stack size and other factors mentioned before I don't think you have much FE, so a shove is not so good. I would probably float and see what he does/draw to your straight on the turn.

ahhh fack, i thought OP had JJ and that you were goin crazy. whoops.

anyway, after rereading the hand i still dont think we have too much fold equity. villain only has 100 left and he loves his hand

also fold PF
