She could've easily said, "Obviously I'm disappointed in not playing, but it's the coach's decision." Everyone who isn't an idiot will know what she means without totally ranting.

The reporter is just there hoping for a decent sound byte. When people like Hope Solo give GREAT sound bytes, that's what stands out.
