Re: Line cutting scenario (long + polls + MSPaint)
[ QUOTE ]
I've always thought the handling of the line-cutter by Mandy Patinkin's character in Dead Like Me was pretty awesome. Your situation would've been the perfect occasion to use it. Here's the clip. [/ QUOTE ] BRAVO! <-- in Nelson Munch's voice |

Dibs: No, that had nothing to do with it. In situations like this I am perceived as a white dude. [/ QUOTE ] How does that work? Are we talking dark-haired white guy with a slight sun tan, or is it the clothes/accent/behavior that makes the difference here? |

Re: Line cutting scenario (long + polls + MSPaint)
This depends on my mood. If I'm feeling beligerent I'll do what you did. If I'm tired but I don't want to put up with his crap I'll call one of the taxi ladies. I can never ignore line cutting though. We get a lot of it in Italy, especially from old ladies. I usually win.

Re: Line cutting scenario (long + polls + MSPaint)
El D,
I wouldn't say something cause I'm a pussy, but once you say something, you have to follow up and you can't just step in front of him. That makes no sense and it could end up making you look bad. TiK, I really have no problem with someone joining up with a friend in a line unless it's a really slow moving line. It's really awkward to stand in line a few spaces back from someone you know and be out of talking range but clearly visible. |

All,
What makes Duke's story more awesome is the fact that he is like 8 feet tall and huge. |

Similar to LFS encounter.
Turn around and yell out "Does anyone mind that this gentleman is cutting in line?" |

Re: Line cutting scenario (long + polls + MSPaint)
Meh, the correct play is to already be talkin' up the young professional chick and have cut in front of the oblivious dude to continue your conversation. So, when the guy comes up to cut in front of the two of you, it will be five times easier to blow him out of the line.
