Default River bluff vs a bad player 10/20 HU

I have $3100, villian covers w/4k. He's def show calling station capabilities and is def a losing player. But he has made a few laydowns in big pots where he's shown lots of strength but I've had the goods each time. Even so....

HU on 10/20nl...I have A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I raise to 60 he repops to 200 I call

5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

He bets 300, I call

Turn: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

check check

River 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

He bets $666. I shove for like $2600 more.

i think its fine. given this board texture i doubt he's going for a thin value bet which means he is likely bluffing often so i don't mind the rebluff. the problem sometimes with bad players is that he may make a bad bet in this spot w/ aces or a weird 2pr and then be like fkkkkk, but usually i like bluffing this spot mostly because i think he is bluffing a ton (which is obv great when he folds )

ya i was gonna ask that. cuz like if hes bad and just overaggro he can have 44, 45s or random diamonds a lot and those types dont generally like to fold either. i imagine only diamonds this guy can have is AQ/AKdd or something if he's playing pretty tight/straightforward OOP so it's prob aight.

also, i know you didnt ask, and i prob call too loose as well a lot, but against a tight 3bettor im prob mucking pre/on the flop

i think it's a pretty bad board to float, but if i got here this way i'd surely do this

he's got JJ almost for sure

Hmm why are you floating the flop to check the turn? Thats a crappy line. I dont think your ace high is good enough on the flop to justify the call unless your taking it away from him on the turn.

As for river, well its possibly a good play as long as you think his 3-betting range is small. There's a high chance though he's gonna think your fos and call though. But I think its a good play.

man if he's only repopped you 2 or 3 times I don't think I'm going to be floating flops with no pair no draw and then running big bluffs trying to get him off of overpairs. im not sure if PT can show me how much ive lost trying to push ppl off of overpairs, but it isn't pretty i'm sure. that said i'd shove riv for sure =)
