Playing golf and poker all day and drinking with your guy "friends" until all hours of the morning doesn't exactly strike me as "Trying your best" in the marriage. I read his blog all the time and he rarely if ever even mentions his wife or spending any time with her. It seems like he was way more interested in doing all that other stuff then spending any time with her.
I like and respect Daniel as a poker player but it seems as a husband he came up somewhat short if he was ever serious about making the marriage work.
