Default (36) Basic AK hand

Don't have the HH in front of me.

Effective stacks are very close to 1500. Button is braminc, a regular 36 player (from what I've seen). I pretty much only play this game when I'm watching TV, so I'm far from a regular, but he knows me from 2p2.

At 25/50, I open to 150 with black AK. He calls from button, blinds fold.

Flop is KT9 with 2 hearts. I check, he bets 200, I call. Turn is offsuit Q. I check, he bets like 600, I fold. He was very surprised that I played AK this way. I thought it was relatively standard against a decent player.

Why are we not raising after he bets 200 on the flop? If you don't bet yourself I don't see a reason to just call here. What are you putting him on?

Check-raise makes him fold all worse hands and call/raise all better hands.

Assuming he's decent, which he's seemed to be, if I bet flop, I'd have to be done with it if I got called. I can't imagine him putting in more chips here with hands I beat, so I was basically using my hand as a bluff catcher. I thought he'd bet more hands that I beat than he'd call with and hands in his general range don't have a ton of outs.

I'd usually just bet flop and completely shut down against any action from the type of player you mentioned. I'm fine with ending the hand immediately due to lots of annoying turn/river cards. I don't really care about getting action from worse hands, bluffing, or all that other garbage on a flop like this.

Also I'd never ever let them know I had AK.
