ever play live?

[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, the casino next to my college only has limit though. I guess it is illegal in WA to have nl cash games. I occasionally will go to play 3/6 limit but its a waste of time with the amount of rake they take. I play pretty close to ideal strategy and still feel like a long term $2 per hour winner.

What do you think the most beneficial skill a poker player can have is?

[/ QUOTE ]
Being all around solid, and making the least mistakes. Some people have styles that are annoying to play against but what really judges who better player at the end of the day? To me it is who has the best pt/bb over a meaningful sample. To specifically answer your question, being able to consistent solid poker, and not tilt would be my answer.

Did you have any "aha!" moments where things just started to click?

[/ QUOTE ]
Not really anything similar to clayton, just long term studying the game. I did realize though when I moved up to 2/4nl that I was starting to play pretty good poker. When I originally moved up (to 2/4+) I think I let my ego at 1/2nl get in the way.
Don’t let your attitude and ego get in the way any time you play poker . Basically, I prided myself on never folding and being a calling station and I had to move down. I also didn’t use best table selection, but playing consistently well is all you have to do!

[ QUOTE ]
toughest player you have played against?

[/ QUOTE ]
A few months back before stars 25/50 came about I remember watching H@££INGGOL and thinking he was so awesome. I eventually was given the chance to sit with him at multiple tables of 5/10nl short handed and I decided to play just for fun since I have the roll and thought it would be a good experience. Here is someone who has a lot more experience then me and has played with some of the best in the world.

I thought it would be cool to experience the opportunity of playing with someone on his level but the bottom line is playing with fish and stakes you feel comfortable with is so much better! No matter what stake you play, the urge to play even higher always exist, but just be content with what you play. As for your question, Krantz put me in a few tough situations recently but that’s a tough question and to hard to answer. Sorry I feel like I keep veering off track off of the question but hopefully some of this is helpful.

1. 'don't call too much out of the blinds' i think this is BS. my vpip is 27 or so and my SB is 42. I saw Isura was 21vpip and 22 in the SB. I think opening up in the SB can be a good thing. or am I just lucky? (btw i'm a (.17) loser in the BB lifetime and a (.02) loser in the SB

Interesting, you might of misunderstood me. By calling I mean when facing a raise OOP, it’s a good idea to fold marginal hand in the blinds since you do not have positional advantage. For most part, if I am not raising I am usually not in the pot.

2. when i say 'blickets' what do you think of? to me, it sounds like the sound made by a fireball in the original mario. it has been my screen name at differnet poker sites, my blog, and most recently a way to sound excited after being shipped a big pot (blickets!)

[/ QUOTE ]
Sounds pretty lame and boring. I bet you wish you had a name as cool as mine.

was the jump from 200nl to 400nl difficult, or just the standard, more regs?

Hey Snake, congrats on all your success thus far.. I was wondering why you don't use HUD anymore, is it just not useful or misleading at 3/6?

18 years old freshman EE major at Washington State University. My GPA was semi decent last semester (3.3GPA) but I pretty much slept in every day and now my classes are getting way tougher so I can not do that anymore .

When I took a Computer Engineering class in digital design (which is probably something you study in EE), it struck me that the whole making circuits deal seems a lot like programming, just with wires instead of code. Do you agree with this assessment? If so, why are you such a donk at programming?

Better regulars, more aggression, less donks. Stars 200nl has some already decent players, and the adjustment shouldn’t be that bad. At 400nl+ it becomes more a battle of intelligence, and you will see a lot more moves. Double barreling becomes mandatory! I think it’s pretty important that you have gained a fundamental tag understanding before you loosen up and go crazy loose in msnl. If you do not know how to adapt and know when to change gears you will just be lighting money on fire. Also, the jump to a higher stake always has a psychological effect, especially being 2x the stake, but being over rolled never hurts.

I play fewer tables, so I really try to focus and not rely on it. I am making much more notes, and looking up hh’s and have been happy with my results so far. If you are playing a lot of tables (especially if lower stakes) or don’t pay attention as much I think it becomes much more mandatory and useful.

I am pretty good at math and it comes a lot easier. As for the stuff “we” have been working on, I am not really used to terminal and emacs so its giving me a headache. Sleeping in since it’s a morning class doesn’t help, but thanks for help so far and let me know when you want that lesson!
