I'm with fees on hand 1. If BB hadn't cold-called, I'd be out in a flash; but given the cold-call I think we can profitably call here. Extra overlay, extra implied odds, position, and a hand unlikely to get us in an rio spot all go towards a thin call.

based on your read AJ I'll give live outs to the overs, though discounted so say 14 which gives us 44% equity

ZOMG, you discounted A WHOLE OUT?!? don't you think that's ALITTLETOOMUCH??

LOL IDK
I tried to not do a too seat of teh pants fold/call e.t.c and tried to give a bit of reasoning - basically i think we have 45% equity adjusting for ranges [more seat of pants] and fudged the no. of outs -I don;t think it really matters we have flush outs and our overs may be good.

dbitel's sold it to me on hand 5.

I still think hand 1 is a fold, and people are overestimating their implied odds - may be vs. me it's a call bit I agree with the poster about RIO 22 if we flop hard vs the coldcaller

I'm interested what AJ has to say.

I like:

1)fold - set of 2s lose here rarely, but enough to make this one close
2)call - enough outs to call.
3)call - outs + tilting villain.
4)fold - not nearly enough equity.
5)fold - BB could have called with heart connectors. I fear that hearts make two of my straight outs no good and a third heart in general is bad.

I argued against the "no-brainer fold" crowd earlier in this thread because I believe this is actually very close. I do, however, lean more towards a fold after all the discussion.

Hand 1 is not an easy fold. It's pretty close, but I've become convinced it is a fold. It's not a no-brainer.

I don't really understand hand 1:

the pot is $21
we have to call $6 => 1:3.5 Pot Odds
Odds to hit a set = 1:7.5 => so we have to win 4*6$ postflop = $24 on average for break even

I think we almost always get that money against 2 or maybe 3 opponents. What do I calculate wrong?

you dont win 100% of times with a set, but you lose atleaset 15% of the time for your whole stack.

1 is really a nobrainer, but that brings up an interesting point, how "big" has our PP to be to actuall call this?
88? 99? TT?
