Dealers are always slow in the beginning, but hopefully with time they get better. I sure like that lounge next to the poker room. It's a shame that they don't have any bigger games going.

Did they have a bigger game than the $300 max, $2-5? Is there any chance they'll raise the max buyin for that to $500?

I like the idea that there is no BBJ. Is there a direct number and can you call ahead to put your name on the list?

You guys keep talking about MCC noone here plays Greektown? Have yet to make to to MGM because I am guessing they will not be spreading a LHE game, but plan on checking it out this week.
I heard no comps either, not sure if this is true, but if it is Greektown will keep my business.

Let's face it John. Greektown is now in third place. I kind of wonder how it was that they were leading the market a couple years ago.

No comps at MGM.

Why would anybody play at Greektown if they have a choice? The floor is incompetent and rude, parking is a pain in the ass and it's one of the few casinos in the country that still allows smoking. Not to mention I called them yesterday to put my name on the list and they haven't answered yet.

It is a bigger room, about 5 minute walk from Comerica Park and Ford Field, I always get a seat at Greektown, ALWAYS have to wait at least an hour to play at MotorCity. All that being said MMC is WAAAY nicer, the floor (management)is WAAAY better. If MMC had 18 tables like Greektown I would live there. As it is it takes too long for a table to open at MMC for me, plus I like the benefit of Greektown being in the middle of the action. MMC doesnot have anything around it to attract me to it.

Parking at Greektown is a pain, the smoking does not really bother me and the floor is bad.

And as far as Greektown being 3rd I would have to disagree with that. They still have the most tables, the most players, the bigger BBJ, better comps (they have wings now that are REALLY good) MGM and MMC may be nicer, but they do not have the tables to accomodate the players.

Yes, some of the dealers are slow, but they will improve. Some of the dealers and even management are new to poker, but I think it will get better over time.

Generally these things don't get better. When they hire management that is new to poker who do you expect to teach the dealers (and management) the correct way to do things? I can direct you to some rooms that have been open over 10 y ears that are still clueless about poker because they opened without poker people so they had nobody to teach them anything. The people there don't have 10 years experience, they have 6 months experience 20 times over.

And the smokin waitresses too.

I always thought of Greektown as poker boot camp, once you can play there, you can play anywhere.
When someone whines to me about the dealers at Foxwoods or the floor at the Bellagio I tell them "Go play at Greektown Detroit and learn."

If you are talking confort and great floor staff, there is nobody that can compete with windsor. If you dont mind crossing the border which I dont, it is the best. The only bad thing is that the 10/20nl game only runs on fri/sat. Greektown is a dump. mcc is a circus and mgm just opened which makes it bad for atleast 6 months untill everybody gets over the hoopla.
