Official Rio/Bellagio Gossip Thread

I was in town for the first weekend, but wasnt able to satellite into the 5K mixed and wanted no part of the insanity that was the Saturday event. Anyway, on Saturday played the Bellagio 1K. Old guy in Seat 4 comes late, plays next to no hands, and spends time reading some math/science thesis. Another old guy comes over and the two of them discuss the thing at length. Seat 4 hardly pays attention to tourney, and once puts in 300 while attempting to raise after blinds are 100-200 ("oh, I didnt realize they'd gone up"). Soon after Seat 4 busts, Seat 5 says "wow, I'm glad he's gone - that guy has zero poker etiquette - none!" Two folks immediately say, "that was David Sklansky." True story.

Also, played 5-10 game at Rio on Friday and Men Nguyen (not Men the master but his "student") was staked $400 by a friend of mine from Augusta to play in the game. Major broke.
