25NL - AA hits set on turn, what does villain have?
Converter wouldn't work, not sure if I missed something from the HH.
I have no reads and don't have PT yet. I will limp with AA maybe 1 every 8 to 10 times hoping to reraise. FYI Hero is at seat 4 with $67.60. Villain is at seat 8 with $41.75. The button is at seat 8. Hero is MP1 with Ac As Villain is Button Pre-flop: 3 Folds, Hero calls, 1 fold MP3 calls, 1 fold, Villain calls, SB completes, BB checks. Flop (board: Ts 3s 2d)pot $1.25) SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $1, 1 fold, Villain calls, 2 folds Turn (board: Ts 3s 2d Ad)pot $3.25) Hero bets $3.25, Villain raises to $6.50, Hero? |

Re: 25NL - AA hits set on turn, what does villain have?
At this level of playing, I don't care for LRR preflop.
I 3bet turn. I want to be able to get my stack in on the river. Why are you worried about villain's hand here? Even if it were of more importance, it's difficult to tell since you have no reads and didn't raise pf. |

I'm not a fan of limping here... but w/e...
Villian might have 45, everything else you beat. I raise. |

Re: 25NL - AA hits set on turn, what does villain have?
First couple things, I dont think trying a limp RR from mp is +ev. If your going to do this do it from UTG, but even then i don't recommend it. Your on a 25nl table, just raise and get your callers.
As for the hand, kinda read dependent. I'm 3 betting, and if he pushes i'm calling hoping to fill up if he limped with 45. You have everything else beat. |

Since you limped it makes this alittle harder. Personally I push. His range is huge here, and I'm pretty sure you have most hands beat.

Re: 25NL - AA hits set on turn, what does villain have?
I'd put Villian most likely on an ace, or possibly two pair, or a lower set, maybe a pair with a flush draw or just the flush draw. I'm licking my chops, expecting a juicy payday with that mini-raise, so I 3bet here.
Now, to put my amazing hand reading ability to use, I know he really had 45, since you bothered posting this with the 2nd nuts. Edit: also, we have redraw outs against the straight, so I can't see how 3-betting isn't a +ev play considering he will often have a worse hand than that as well. |

With regards, to the min-raise on the turn, pretty much in agreement that if you get stacked off by Villain's 45 , you have a nice lesson for $40 about playing AA pre-flop. Oherwise you're way ahead of his range.

Re: 25NL - AA hits set on turn, what does villain have?
Agree with everyone that limping is bad news here, but you've already heard that enough.
As played, I re-raise. Since the you allowed villain to limp in, he may be giddy about 33, 22, or A10. Maybe they have two spades or diamonds and are making a semi-bluff. I doubt they have TT or AK here since they didn't raise preflop, but maybe someone else at the table is getting cute. Either way, you're ahead of everything else here except 45. I'm getting my stack in either way here. You're most likely ahead, but worst case scenario you have a bunch of outs on the river -- 3 3's, 3 2's, 3 10's, and the case ace. So even if you're behind to the straight, you've got about a 20% chance to fill up on the river or get quads. If you do lose the hand, you get a nice little scar to remind you not to slowplay aces next time... |
