Default Do you ever stop here?

I eventually did, but just curious, how far do you go on this turn?

Cryptologic
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $1/$2

Pre-flop: (10 players) midwest_k is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG folds, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 raises</font>, 7 folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 caps</font>, hero calls.

Flop: J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (8.5SB, 2 players)

Turn: 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5.25BB, 2 players)
Hero checks, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 re-raises</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero re-raises</font>, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 re-raises</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero re-raises</font>, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 re-raises</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero re-raises</font>, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 re-raises</font>, Hero calls.

I have the best hand here, but I've never been in this situation before, as I rarely play on crypto. I froze up a little, I guess, but is there any way you don't raise as long as possible here?

i would basically never be sitting at a table with more money than i'd be willing to put in as the huge favorite.

there's one card to come and you have the nuts and an opponent who capped preflop so he probably has 1 out with JJ. if he has A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] you are still making a killing on any bets you put in.

so no, i dont know why you would stop. did you eventually make yourself believe that you didnt have the nuts?

how much money did you have left at the table?

what i really wonder is how you thought people would respond to this post. did you think anyone would say, "yes after he 40-bets me, i begin to think that the nuts isnt the nuts."?????? i am mad now.

I tend to check/call the nuts the whole way for metagame purposes.

What's with the flop play?

How deep are your stacks? How reasonable of a player is he? I'd go a little bit longer with the current nuts (three or four more). Even if he has AK of hearts, he only has 22% equity here, and you make .6 BB per raise.

Ah Kh 10 22.73 34 77.27 0 0.00 0.227

In fact, it looks like the best he can do is KT hearts (unlikely) and T9 hearts (even more unlikely), which brings him up to 30% equity by adding 4 more outs.

The reason to stop is because you don't have a pure lock on the hand, and you don't want to put yourself in a spot where you can't play with him anymore (bankroll consideration) or where you'll play bad against him (tilt) if he outdraws you. My bigger fear is the second one.

yeah, I pretty much knew when I hit the post button that this was stupid. I apologize for wasting everyone's time. Not being sarcastic, just really realize now how stupid it was. I had never been in a situation with uncapped betting heads up, and choked.

honestly since it is very unlikely he even has 20% equity. so we're probably getting over 9:1 on our bet. there is no possible way that we should save bets now so that we dont tilt later. you will never have this advantage again. if you lose, just quit for the day knowing that you put all your chips in as a huge favorite and that, FTOP wise, you probably had your best session ever because of this hand.

if there were ever a time for someone to bash people for being "weak tight," this is it. you are playing poker, a game of small edges. and now you have MINIMUM a 9:1 bet and you're not willing to put the rest of your bets in.

WEAK TIGHT TO THE MAX.

"choked"? lol, Don't worry I honestly wasn't even trying to be a dick, I thought it was a joke post. I didn't realize crypto had no cap. What a [censored] whackjob UTG+1 is.

I figured I'd call, and go for a turn c/r. Probably wrong, since he capped, but I figure if he has AK, then I can get him to lead again when I call the flop, check the turn.

Stacks were pretty deep. I had just sat down (played about 1 round) and I had about my $50 buyin. He had slightly more than me.

No, No, No, I didn't think you were. Choked is probably a bad word, but I don't know how else to describe having a chance to potentially stack someone, and not doing it. He showed no signs of slowing down, and I had the best hand.

And yes, I tend to be weak tight sometimes, and it sucks, but I'm working at it.
