PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
just got here, no reads. I think my preflop should have been to $2, which is probably the root of my problem, but besides that, can i fold here? also as a side question, should i be buying in the max amount every time or vary that depending on other stack sizes? BB ($50) Hero ($33.85) MP ($49.10) CO ($50.50) Button ($35.70) SB ($23.40) Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1.5</font>, MP calls $1.50, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Button calls $1.50, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>. Flop: ($5.25) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $4</font>, MP calls $4, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $12</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $32.35</font>, MP folds, Button calls $20.35. Re: 50NL 6 handed -- AA facing push/fold
Preflop, definitely make it $2 to go.
On the flop, you may want to pot this since you had 2 cold-callers. But I don't think your bet size was necessarily too small. After Button wakes up I'm shoving just as you did. MP has put dead money in the pot, but I want this heads up. Good thing for you the cards made your runner-runner straight. As far as buy-in, you should always buy in for the max unless you have a specific reason not to. Playing with 100BB gives you an advantage over other players, because you're better than they are post-flop. |

With a short-stack like that, there's not much else you can do.
Stop playing short! |
