Ok, before you all BBV me, hear me out... 2/4
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
MP ($855.77) Hero ($371.60) Button ($533.10) SB ($407.40) BB ($785.56) UTG ($353.99) Preflop: Hero is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $2. 2 folds, Hero raises to $14, Button calls $14, 2 folds. Flop: ($34) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets $24, Button calls $24. River: ($495.60) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Final Pot: $495.60 The button is a 54/4/.2 nit after 740 hands. I really cant see him doing this without the K hi flush or A hi flush... he calls down with sets on anything that sembles a dangerous board. His name is keybored111. I want to start making some big laydowns. CAN I LAY THIS DOWN? |

This thread belongs in BBV or not on this forum, because the answers you will inevitably get are no. You're just not deep enough and maybe he has the ten high flush. Sick cooler.

If he doesn't do this without the K-high or A-high flush than sure.

My answer is more to do with how far can you trust your reads at this level; obviously it was only a buy in, so its not a tragedy to go broke here. Even though its a smaller stake, how bad is it to lay it down here? I never do it, but maybe I should sometimes...

Well it's your read. I've played with people who you could have sick laydowns against because they never bet without top 2+ and never raised without the stone nuts, so I can imagine it.

If this thread is about reads, it shouldn't go here. Hands with very detailed reads don't belong on this forum. You explained the situation yourself - I don't know this guy, but I can't lay down a Q high flush here when it's possible he has worse hands.

I lay this down here because his aggression is just .2 - I won't do it a second time tho against this player (and maybe not against another player when it's marginal)
He has the goods sooo often here. you need to be good what, 40% of the time? don't think so against a .2 lets-geddit-rr-allin on dangerous board |

Stick with your read, no matter how sick a laydown you make. You're usually right. Vs. a 0.2 AF that slowplayed till the turn? Seems like actually a pretty easy fold to me. He's pot committing himself there with T flush or worse???
From Borgata, I have QTd OTB third hand in the game (NL 1/2). UTG young kid raises to $10, MP calls, I call. Flop is TT4r, he bets $15, fold, I raise to $50, he calls. Turn's a 3o, he checks, I bet $75, he "thinks" for a while. The whole time he's sitting back in his chair like he couldn't care less about the hand. Then he said "raise" and I'm thinking "man, he's got me beat, but can I fold this?" Puts out his $75, and grabs a stack of reds and says $100. Thankfully he starts unstacking his reds to count them right. His hand is shaking like a leaf. Turbo-muck. Stick with your read, it'll do you right more than wrong. - C - |
