Investing in BP (Beyond Petroluem)

Hi,

I constantly think about things to invest my poker winnings in and I saw a commercial on television for Beyond Petroleum. On their site they have a lot of information for investors. I was thinking about buying some shares, and would like to know what you guys think.

I mainly want to do this because I am concerned about the dependency of petroleum on this planet and I think we need to start using other forms of energy.

I am new to investing, and don't know much about the whole market, so I am looking for some insight from the 2+2 community.
