Massive headaches?
Near the end of my workouts I have been getting these killer headaches that feel exactly like migraines. Despite my muscles still having a little bit left, I can't really continue.
I have no problem pushing myself to the max doing HIIT or on fast 3 mile runs. Anyone else have this problem or know how you can get around it. I have done a bit of reading on it, but haven't gotten any specific answers. |

Re: Massive headaches?
could it be from the breathing technique in deadlifts and squats? I get slightly dizzy after heavy deadlifts and power cleans sometimes. Perhaps that is causing headaches?

Re: Massive headaches?
google exertion headaches. I made a post about this. Also make sure you are drinking heaps of water the day before you exercise, and the morning on that day. Also make sure you are getting enough protein and carbs, and stretch your neck. But you will still get them very rarely i think. Do not work through them, if you feel the headache coming on you will have to stop in my experience, or you will go back home and it will last longer.

Re: Massive headaches?
I used to have this same problem. They get worse if you get less sleep, so really aim to get a good nights sleep before working out. Like Magic said drink plenty of water and if you feel one coming on do not work through it.

Re: Massive headaches?
I would say its your breathing technique.
However holding your breath is encouraged on some lifts to stay 'tight'. |

Re: Massive headaches?
Lack of water is by far the most common cause of headaches.
I know that I sweat a lot when I train. Drinking water and whey+dextrose shake during training was the best improvement that I have made supplement wise in a long time. |
