Default Need HELP PLEASE! 5.1 Sound Speakers

Hello just bought a new 5.1 sound speakers for my computer, I know I have 5.1 Sound card as just bought computer 4 days ago, but the only the 2 front speakers not the back left or right or sub woofer and pretty sure I plugged it in all right anyone know whats wrong?

Are the drivers setup correctly? If windows doesn't know you have a 5.1, it'll only use 2.

If you want to test the ports directly, you can get a pair of headphones and plug into each of the ports on your soundcard while music plays. At least this would take the speakers out of the equation.

Agree. You need to find your sound card utility and "tell" it that you have hooked up 5.1 speakers. It is still operating as though you are in stereo mode. There will be a setting that needs to be changed, maybe a box that needs to be checked, that will enable 5.1 surround sound.
