Default 50NL river bluff

And now for something completely different:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

UTG ($91.33)
MP ($0)
CO ($60.66)
Button ($50)
Hero ($66.41)
BB ($49)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Hero completes, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises to $1.25</font>, Hero calls $1.

Flop: ($3) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">BB bets $2.5</font>, Hero calls $2.50.

Turn: ($8) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">BB bets $5</font>, Hero calls $5.

River: ($18) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">BB bets $10</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $30</font>

Preflop, flop and turn....I know. Please, try to disregard those. I will explain later.

BB is 19/14/3.5. Seems like a solid TAG. Can fold hands. I play about 28/20 and have an ok table image.

- what range would you put BB on after his river bet? He tanked for a moment before betting
- what range do you think he is calling with? Does the range make this a +EV bluff?

AK, KQ

i put him on this range.

i guess he wont lay it down. Looks a little bit like a busted FD.

I think a push would have worked better, because you commit yourself to the hand, and they respect it more.

If uNLs have the decision between: Fold - Call - Raise, it's easier for them to call. If they have: Fold - Call they think a little bit more.

Sure, I will c/r river with an 8 much more often than I will lead out.

Also,

- what range do you think he will most likely put me on when I raise, the way I played the whole hand?

OK, not much love for this one, I better post the second part before the thread is forgotten.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

BB ($91.33)
Hero ($66.41)
MP ($0)
CO ($60.66)
Button ($50)
SB ($49)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $0.50.
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, SB completes, <font color="#CC3333">Hero (poster) raises to $1.25</font>, SB calls $1.

Flop: ($3) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $2.5</font>, SB calls $2.50.

Turn: ($8) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $5</font>, SB calls $5.

River: ($18) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $10</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB raises to $30</font>, Hero calls $20.

Final Pot: $78

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
SB has Qs 9s (one pair, nines).
BB doesn't show.
Hero has Ad Ac (one pair, aces).
MP doesn't show.
Outcome: Hero wins $78. </font>

(for some reason stupid converter thinks I was UTG and it was 4 handed post flop. I was BB and HU post flop)

The reason I posted this - it sure felt like I was making a bad call on the river. Was it? How am I supposed to play this hand differently?

- SB is actually unknown, 5 hands at the table. That makes me unknown to him as well.
- I though about checking behind on the river "for pot control" but I would lose huge amounts of value doing so
- river bet size is such that worse hands can still call. Do villains see this as such weakness that they raise bluff because of that? Should that affect my bet sizing?
- what range should I put SB on when he raises on the river?

Your turn bet is way too small.

River is a fold.

So, this makes SB's line +EV, right?
