Why bet the turn you ask? Because he's called the flop bet, likely has some kind of draw, the 8 shouldn't scare him, you want to build the pot at this point, plus you want him to pay dearly for his draws.

You have to call at the very least. You have a good hand here, folding trips here is way too passive. Your check on the turn was bad. With flush/str8 draw out there, You should play your trips fast here, not slow. If he pulled the str8 or flush out on you, consider it a lesson to not check the turn in these situations and give your opponent a free card to draw out on you.

whatever, the turn check isnt that bad. its not like there are any draws whatsoever.

he has 33/55-88/T9 here 90% of the time.
