can't you just find like $10 in change on the ground? How about you wash cars for $1 a car...You will get your $10 way faster than trying to make 1 million play chips.

Are people really so broke they can't get together $10?

[/ QUOTE ]

What are the fees to deposit $10? Would there be anything left?

I think it is like $7 - $10. The big question is why do people buy them?

[/ QUOTE ]

no idea, but prehaps in countries where actual gambling is prohibited?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think I remember it being mentioned on here that in poorer countries where online poker isn't allowed, selling play chips on ebay or wherever was a frequently used loophole to basically make it for cash, even if the cash amount was really small.

A friend was telling me how his friend was obsessed with his MSN poker rating, and like reviews his hands and stuff while no money is at stake, play chip 'ballas' where $10 is exchanged here and there seems like its just a step up from that.

i don't know what is sadder:

1) OP is trying to run up a play money bankroll

2) OP is posting about his play money bankroll

3) OP thinks other people care about his play money bankroll.

I've often wondered who is worse - the muppet who writes rubbish, or the muppet who reads rubbish.

OP, play the 1K freeroll every night at 9:40pm on Bodog. If you are any kind of semidecent player, you can build a decent bankroll doing this.

Since the current exchange rate is $10 for $1,000,000 in play chips, what makes the play money all that different from real money? Every $100,000 in play money is $1 in real money. So the play money sit n go's that are $80,000 buy-in are actually like $.80 sit n go's. Believe it or not, if you play well at this level it is still +EV. 99% of the people playing play money play like donkeys and you just have to take advantage. Sure it's starting small, but is there that big a difference between a $80,000 play chip sit n go and a $1 real money sit n go? Not really.

so wait... I can transfer my play money to a friend... reload, rinse and repeat? Once they get to a million we get a sweet $10 to split between the two of us?

Another idea ... I remember reading a thread somewhere that you could buy into the lowest play money sngs on fulltilt and sit out and grind a small profit (well... pretend profit anyhow)... sounds like another slow, but steady hustle...
