Re: Worst Fold Ever?!
I don't play near this high, but I don't understand how this is such a trivial fold. Against exactly JT (I see no reason to weight villain towards having the Js) you have 38.9% equity:
11,880 games 0.063 secs 188,571 games/sec Board: 9s 8s 7d Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 38.864% 34.92% 03.94% 4149 468.00 { Ts6s } Hand 1: 61.136% 57.20% 03.94% 6795 468.00 { JTs, JTo } With 10800 in the pot and 7700 to call we need 41.6% equity to make a call breakeven. I just don't buy that it's so impossible that villain could have 56 2% of the time and a set 5% of the time... |

Re: Worst Fold Ever?!
The EV between calling and folding is very slim IMO.

Re: Worst Fold Ever?!
I hardly ever buy in this deep and if I do it's so I can cover a fish not a good player. I bought in for 4k and ran it up to 9k in this game. I'm not afraid to make a call without the nuts for that money.
In the same game a week earlier, I instacalled a 5k all in bet with a pair of 66's on a 7 5 3 rainbow flop and it was good until the turn haha. then it was no good. I go with the read. The reason why I posted the hand was because: For my stack size should I ever lay this down? Even the best hand readers (I'm not one of them) are wrong often enough to make this call. ...I think? That's the question I have. Did I overvalue this tell? my reading ability? |

Re: Worst Fold Ever?!
I dont play high stakes (im not fortunate enough to have that much money )
But i was thinking, if you were playing a lower limit, you would instacall. I know theres much more money involved, but isnt it situationally the same as a lower limit game? (i dont know what i would hav done, probally folded and gone and got drunk + hookers) |

[ QUOTE ] is like raising a set on a dry board, counterproductive. [/ QUOTE ] I think you should talk to AEJones on this sentiment - he a very different mindset to this kind of thought. |

[/ QUOTE ] wasn't trashing you specifically about the scared money whatnot. also, i was leaning towards a call anyway because you just can't put enough stock in a tell to completely rule out all non-nut hands, and then Brian O'Nolan's post (which i haven't double checked) makes it a very clear call if the numbers are right. |
