I think that Phil Gordon is worth about $100 million, but that's because of the dot-com boom, not poker.

Of course, there's always Andy Beal.

No way. At 4000-8000 an adequate bankroll is more like $4 million. The biggest roll I've heard of is Phil Ivey's, and that was $8 million.

[/ QUOTE ]

There is no way Ivey's roll is "only" 8 million. More like 20-40 million.

5000BBs? Sounds like a lot to me.

They don't just play limit.

Fair enough.

It still sounds like a crazy sum.* Without knowing anything else about where they got their money, I'd have to assume that some of it came from investments, too.

Ah, Mr. Andrew Beal is the answer! I believe he is both a billionaire AND a poker player!

Case Closed, GG, etc

There's some rich banker from Texas who play some poker. Something like Billy, no it's Andy Beal.

I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet, but Andy Beal is a billionare and he plays poker. Nobody really knows about him though somebody should write a book about him.

Paul Phillips doesn't play poker anymore. He's a scrabble player/Rennaissance man now.

What is a sustainable hourly rate for being a Renaissance man?

This thread is exactly why I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2+2. You tell 2+2er's not to do something and they will go out of their way to do it, for hilarious comedy effect. Just genius.
