Another Limit Convert
Don't get me wrong, I love 6-Max limit, but I'm tired of the variance and I want to make more money. Based on what I've seen, people are able to make unbelievable money playing 2/4 and 3/6 no limit. I'd like to be one of them as soon as possible.
Facts about me; -Mostly a casual player still, about 10k hands/month. -Only about 50k hands to my name in my career. -Winner at about 1.5BB/100 in my career (50%+ at Absolute) -My typical game was 2/4 limit, though frequently played anywhere from 1/2 to 3/6, with shots at 5/10. -Bankroll has grown from an original $80 deposit to $4500. (lots of bonus whoring) Question now...where do I start? I've played about 1k hands of NL25 at party and seem to be doing fine just winging it so far. Am I not giving myself enough credit? Are there any other limit converts who were able to quickly settle into a higher level? |

Re: Another Limit Convert
Move up a level immediately with that bankroll and beating NL25. Post hands, read here, comment here. Get confidence beating NL50, then move up again. NL100 and NL200 are where the game changes a bit, and those are the levels you should strive for in the short term.

Re: Another Limit Convert
well for one I think it's a good idea to put suggested BR limits for NL buyins and Big bets into perspective.
At 2/4 I believe the recommended roll is $1200. For 50NL the recommended roll is $1000. But post some hands. I'd work on learning the standard bet amounts and standard lines here while playing at 25NL. Then once you get a sense of that stuff just try higher limits BR permitting. EDIT: Just noticed the roll. I'd still cut my initial losses from the learning curve at 25 NL, but spend less time than normal at 50NL. |
