Default Re: Villain shoves 100BB on the river and i have a pair

3-Bet preflop to a button raiser is fine, he's 21 / 18 and has a huge range here. KQ is way ahead of his range.

He has a very wide calling range because of the deepstacks though. I'd say he flopped a set and played it very slowly due to the deepstacks.

Could be Jacks, 4's, or 7's. Very small outside possibility of AA. But slowplaying it so deepstacked is a big risk.

Also a very minute possibility of 56s for the river straight. It would be loose calling on his part but if he thinks he can bluff you in position.

To all the people who are saying 3-betting KQ is horrible... It's just.... not.

What do you reraise a buttom raise with? QQ+ & AK only.... You'll get paid off a lot by smart players. If you have a very small 3-bet range people will call with low pockets to bust... And they will succeed. By widening your range you do not make it profitabe to call with low pocket pairs, and if they cold call with AQ, flop a Q and run into your AA or KK, you make money.
