But I don't really see my opponent calling with anything I beat very often. So why am I betting the turn here? Should I check despite flushdraw being out? |

Re: TT why am I betting the turn?
Depends on villian i think but betting the turn isnt that bad imo, but checking is fine too that way you keep the pot small. And its hard to see how you can get value on both turn and river so checking turn is a good way to not get in tuff spots.

Re: TT why am I betting the turn?
I think the turn bet was good but you got check raised because your bet looks quite weak.

Re: TT why am I betting the turn?
you bet for value from smaller pairs/draws. if he folds over cards, thats fine too.
i see hands like 55/A7s/97s call a turn bet here so often. |

Re: TT why am I betting the turn?
Surely you're betting to avoid giving him a free card to fl draw or overs?

Re: TT why am I betting the turn?
there is a flush draw and 3 open ended straight draw on the flop.
why don't you raise the flop? |

Re: TT why am I betting the turn?
Not betting the turn gives AK a free card to beat you, and sometimes you'll lose value because he would have called a bet.
Not betting the turn gives any flopped draw a free card to beat you, and you'll lose value because he will call a bet. Not betting the turn loses value when villain has a lower pp/7x that would have called a bet. The only con to betting is that it will sometimes put you in a bad spot when you get c/r. He might have a bigger PP/8x that's going for a stack-a-donk. Or he might be bluffing. I think I'd rather just bet the turn and then reevaluate based on villains action. Sometimes I'll call a c/r, and sometimes I'll fold. But checking behind in this is kinda weak and -EV in the long run. This is not a WA/WB spot so I wouldn't go for pot control. |
