First time I've put down the perfect-perfect one some one

btw check river?

-----
MP ($1273.70)
-----
HP ($447.50)
-----

Preflop: Hero is SB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP raises to $14, 1 fold, HP calls $12, BB calls $10.

Flop: ($42) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
HP checks, BB checks, MP checks.

Turn: ($42) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
HP bets $42, BB calls $42, MP calls $42.

River: ($168) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
HP bets $168, BB folds, MP raises to $336, HP raises to $391.5 (All-In), MP calls $55.50.

Final Pot: $951

HP has 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (four of a kind, twos)
MP has J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (full house, jacks full of twos)

Outcome: HP wins $951

40 buy in downswings are not normal, i'd say at least 85% of the time someone on a 40 buy in downswing is a losing player

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't know that I'd agree w/ this.... I've gone on 2 downswings 30 buy in's or more in the past 5 months and I've had at least a 30k hand breakeven stretch in each month this year as well, and I'm still running at 2.5 with all that taken into account, so I'd say a player that's a marginal winner (say .5-1 ptbb/100) at a given level could easily go on a 40 buy in downswing.... In fact in this day and age of poker I wouldn't think it'd be all that uncommon.

Are my 30+ buy in downswings THAT uncommon? I thought they'd be relatively commonplace for people who put in tons of hands like HEK, Catcher and myself

edit: yeah, most players who go on these downswings are losing players... I was talking about 2+2ers, after this post I realized that you probably weren't

they are only rare for 4 tabling nit-jobs who table select and play under amazing conditions, or people who lie, or gods.

You guys are nuts if you think 30+buyins are normal parts of mid stakes games, even under todays conditions.

its not normal, its rare, probably a quartery to yearly thing, if it was normal it wouldn't be frustrating.
