Do you want a color change when hovering over the link, or to indicate that you have visited the line, or both?

The translation page is in the sidebar at twoplustwo.com, for reasons that will not mater once we change the sidebar altogether it isn't on the forums.

Feel free to post some more or PM me if you have any additional suggestions or comments on this.

I like the way the links change colors after you visit them. It makes it easier (I feel) to check the forums you visit daily, since there are like 800 forums now.

Kiera,

I think this will be a contentious issue of personal preference. I don't really care for the color changing links. I'd rather they just all stay the same color, since I think it looks weird with all manner of different colored links.

I think having a visited color will look out of synch with that sidebar, but I can understand why Nick would like it. I have a feeling we'll get used to it, assuming that things stay expanded/collapsed as per our own wishes/cookies.

ryan,

while we're at it, my stylesheet does a lot of things it shouldn't do (including not work well in ie) because of the green sidebar. please let me know how i can get a head start on fixing it post a sidebar upgrade.

thanks!

note - I think the link color change as Nick describes will only revert daily if the user deletes his or her cookies on a daily basis. Usually there is a time limit of x days set by the browser preferences.
