Default A couple of preflop questions

.5/1 5-handed table. The players are loose and passive, except for the guy two places to your left who's got a PFR of about 8. What do you do in these situations?

1) 55 in the CO. HJ limps.

2) 65s in the BTN. 1 limper behind you. If you won't play that, what's the worst suited connector you would call with?

steal from the button with practically any two...

as per your two scenarios

1 i believe i limp as well he is in sb and likely is a non factor

2 can't raise and don't think there is enough to equity to play that lowest suited connector would be J10

With a limper in front it really changes what you can do

I suspect with a rock to my left two over I raise more first in and tighten up when there is someone who has entered the pot.

1) With loose passives behind I would just overlimp. Prolly raise 77 and flip a coin with 66.

2) Fold. With loose passives behind me I would play 98s. Iso-raing suited connectors with loose players behind is a mistake IMO.

Did you even read OP?

EDIT: I raise 1 and fold 2 but it's close in both cases. 98s is definitely a play; the line is around 87s/76s.

I raise hand 1 and fold hand 2. I would play 98s, probably 87s but probably not 76s.

Also, a pfr of 8 is pretty passive for 5-max.

Yeah I know, but I just wanted to have a scenario where there is some possibility of being raised. The more agressive the remaining players are, the more likely I am to fold.

In hand 1 I would raise. In hand 2 would fold. I am overlimping starting with 89s

I raise with 55 hoping to knock out the blinds and iso our loose-passive friend.

Hand 2 is a fold. Smallest one that I play is probably around 98s at this particular table.

1. raise.
2. fold.

i would play 98s for a raise behind one limper.

78s if i was feeling confident. i think that's about the break-even point, but could be +ev for image, etc.

1. I would probably limp. As Oink, I start raising at 77, but as always, it depends.
2. 89s usually, but it sometimes goes one in each direction, e.g. in rare cases I would play 78s and in some I wouldn't even go before 9Ts.
