I could easily see villian firing a double barrel on this dry board given your read. Btw, we are bluffing at this point right or does he ever call with a worse hand? Have you done anything fishy up to this point?

I love "bluffing" with weak made hands - hands that could possibly be the best at that point. I do it from tiem to time, when I do smell weakness and expect a very frequent fold, but have no clue if my hand is best or not, and if calling instead might put me in a tough spot (aka oop especially).

I think most of the value in a c/r like this comes preventing yourself from having to make a tough river decision. The pot is getting fairly big, so that's sometimes pretty worthwhile, but I'm not sure I like the stacks sizes/hand you're doing it with.

Do you call a shove? Pot's pretty big, but he's barely ever shoving with worse, and we don't really have odds to call. River action in the rare case that he calls, and a blank falls? ugh

Yea I gotta call a shove, would be getting like 6 to 1

FWIW, he might shove 89 here or something and I might be ahead.

Also, this is 100% better with no flopped or turned flush draw right?

Eh, are people seriously thinking this is a BLUFF?

no worse hand will call, so it better be a bluff or its pretty dumb. And yeah, I could sometimes see myself playing an overpair this way planning on folding vs some. Although, id probably talk myself into calling by telling myself hes on a combo draw.

Ahnuld, I think it's rarely that a worse hand calls. However, given redraws and my CR bluff frequency, I'm pretty sure that 98 wouldn't fold, sometimes J9 will stick it in, and much more rarely 78 will shovee here (a shove and a call are pretty similar... if he calls, I have under a quarter of the pot sized bet left on the river.

Also, I should be doing this some % of the time if I CC the flop with a 7 imo... I think I need to do more than always have my hand be a straight bluff catcher and "turn my hand face up and stack off like a calling station."
