Default $200 Live Donkament - River Bluff

Final 2 tables (15 players left) in a $200 tourney ( Indian Casino).

Pay-outs are for top 8, first prize is about $7K

I'm a little above average in chips at 45K ( blinds 500-1K)and villain has the same stack.

Folded to villain (MP) who raises to 4K, folded to me on the small blind I call (?) with 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. At this point, I think he has a pretty wide range (22+,A9s+, any broadway)

Flop : 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ( 9K )

I check, he checks behind. At this point I put him on pretty much nothing since I'm pretty sure he would bet any pair.

Turn : J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ( 9K )

I decide to lead out for 6K and represent anything that beats his possible A high. He thinks for 10 seconds then calls. I think his range is now reduced to A:spadeX, and any decent J.

River : A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ( 21K )

I'm pretty sure this card hit him so I decided at this point that I would do something tricky and go for a CRAI as I'm pretty sure he will value bet when I check to him and I think I have alot of FE against any ace (maybe not AJ) . I check, he thinks for 10 seconds and lead for 10K. I think for a little time then say '' wow '' and announce that I'm AI for 25K more.

Thoughts?

Villain in this hand is a thinking player. I wouldn't do this if he wasn't.

I think preflop is really really bad

I don't like turn because he never really folds anything so you'll have to double barrel and its a crappy spot to do so.

As played, meh, sick if you get him to fold AsX, otherwise I mean, its not great imo

As the original poster said "$200 Live DONKAMENT - River Bluff"

So play it like real donkaments are played:

Donkaments pre-flop

You have 34dd, suited connectors! It's an excellent hand. So you play the hand and thus re-raise. In a donkament one never call - just re-raise or fold.

Flop : 7s 7h 5s ( 9K )

Donkaments on flop

Nice you are first into the pot. You have a straight draw - so bet pot. Not a penny less. Might even bet more than it - say 50% more to tell the oppenent to lay down the hand.

Turn : Js ( 9K )

Donkaments on Turn

Well, now its all-in or fold my friend. In a true donkament we never fold. So all-in. With a straight draw and tre spades on the board we must get rid of any flush draws. So donk the pot. If the opponent has a flush already - the opponent cant surely call because we represent the nut flush!

River - Who cares!

Donkaments on River

If one got any chips left - donk them in too.

In a donkament, one play real gooooood!

PS It's Irony for those that are reading disabled.
