50NL: AKo OOP hits TPTK in 3bet pot. Standard line?
Villain is 25/16/2 over 50 hands
I've been running 27/19/3.5 (lol this feels so weird to say) $0.25/$0.5 No Limit Holdem 9 players Converted at weaktight.com Stacks: UTG (<font color="#0000cc">$11.05</font>) UTG+1 (<font color="#0000cc">$53.15</font>) MP1 (<font color="#0000cc">$86.00</font>) MP2 (<font color="#0000cc">$40.00</font>) MP3 (<font color="#0000cc">$75.70</font>) CO (<font color="#0000cc">$10.10</font>) BTN (<font color="#0000cc">$52.75</font>) SB (<font color="#0000cc">$19.00</font>) Hero (<font color="#0000cc">$57.35</font>) Pre-flop: ($0.75, 9 players) Hero is BB A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#777777">1 fold</font>, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 raises to $2</font>, <font color="#777777">6 folds</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $6.25</font>, UTG+1 calls $4.25 I repop here for initiative on the flop, and I may fold out small pairs. Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($12.75, 2 players) <font color="#cc0000">Hero bets $8</font>, UTG+1 calls $8 I hit TPTK bet out, and get called. I don't think he's here with a small PP anymore...more likely, IMO are JJ+, AK, and maybe AQ/KQ (but I don't give these much weight). Turn: J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($28.75, 2 players) Hero checks, UTG+1 checks I check the turn here to keep the pot smaller and to snap off a possible bet from QQ/JJ that may think I was just cbetting. When villain checks behind, I figure I'll check and call a 1/2 pot bet. River: J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($28.75, 2 players) Hero checks, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 bets $15</font>, Hero calls $15 As if villain read my mind, he bets out $15, and I call. Is this standard or does anyone b/f the turn? On the river, am I ever ahead or is best case scenario a split? As always, all comments are appreciated. Thanks! |

Re: 50NL: AKo OOP hits TPTK in 3bet pot. Standard line?
totally standard imo. i think you are mistaken to assume villain does not call 3 bet with small pp when both of you are 100BB deep. you will see bluffs on river from missed draws, bluffs with nothing and bets from AK to make the call profitable.

I play it the same except I will bet more on the flop. I think the check on the Turn entices weaker hands to bet the river against you. If he checks the river, then value bet

[ QUOTE ]
I check the turn here to keep the pot smaller and to snap off a possible bet from QQ/JJ that may think I was just cbetting. When villain checks behind, I figure I'll check and call a 1/2 pot bet. [/ QUOTE ] I like your plan if it's to c/r not c/c. Check/call leaves us with $24 stacks and the pot being ~$55. Seems like you had a plan on the turn but with no plan for the river. Given your image in this hand I'd bet $21 on turn and shove the river. |
