Default NL50 6max - Mid pair

Villan is 30/23/3 over 13 hands, so not really much information and havent seen any cards from him so far.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Button (Villan) ($38.98)
SB ($6.36)
BB ($64.47)
UTG ($53.39)
Hero ($53.50)
CO ($99.58)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls $0.50, Hero raises to $2.25, 1 fold, Button (Villan) calls $2.25, 2 folds, UTG folds.

Flop: ($5.75) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Villan checks. - Choose to not cbet here as i have been raising/cbetting a lot the last few hands.

Turn: ($5.75) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Villan bets $3.5, Hero calls $3.50. - Villans bet seems weak, draw heavy board. I put him on a draw or an underpair to the 8 here.

River: ($12.75) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $4, Villan calls $4. I bet this to get value from 44-77/T9 thinking hed have to call. I woulda folded to raise.

Final Pot: $20.75

Lead flop, if u get called try to get cheap showdown. I donīt mind ur river bet. If u think ur ahead on river check and try to induce missed flush draw to bet.

In other situations I think checking can be alright...in this situation oop I like to bet and take this down. If you check the flop and he bets whats your line?

I would have probably bet the turn 100% of the time seeing as he checked behind on the flop and a nonscare card hit the turn

This is a pretty interesting hand and if we can learn to play these types of pots well on a consistent basis we'll become much better players, I think.

Anywho, I like the flop check, especially if you've been raising and c-betting a lot recently.

On the turn we have to decide: do we want to be passive and call down or aggressive and fire?

His check on the flop leads us to believe he's got a similar hand that you describe at the bottom (middle PPs, T9, etc.) so the 3 is a pretty good card for us.

If we had a read on villain's turn aggression this would be an easier decision but as played, I think I'm betting the turn here.

And finally, on the river I'd probably go ahead and fire another bet since we did on the turn.

But, if you check-call on the turn I think we should be c/c'ing on the river as well.

i'm with dawade on this one. although i do it a lot more when i'm in position than out, i think its a good idea to try and show down some marginal hands in small pots as opposed to just playing them like blanks. i would bet the turn though.

I thought id get more value by making that smallish bet.
his range here: KQ/QJ/QT(unlikely considering his line so far) might reraise me. I save 2-3$ in comparison to c/c
T9/J9/44-77: most likely will check it down if we dont bet
Flush draws: most likely fold to a bet and lets say 50% of the time bluff 6-10$ if we dont bet
