people show up here w/ 77-99 all the time lol. if you have the balls to call this, good for you. you could be very likely racing w/ AK/AQ as well. discounting an ace that mp1 raised with,

i agree w/ bottomset, you can call, but i wouldn't.

Really?

I mean, you're marginally ahead of AK. Is AQ in his range? But everything else crushes you: QQ, KK, AA. Is JJ in there also?

You make this call getting 1.5 on you money?

I think you are flipping most of the time, I will take coinflips getting 1.5/1 all day long

he does show up with AA and other better pairs some of the time(usually AA, JJ-KK not so much), but also random junk like A8s or 77 as well occasionally

so anytime somebody shoves over your PF bet your going to call because you put him on AA or AK? i don't understand how this is profitable.

are you talking about this specific type of player? (40/10?)

This is NL25, I've seen people shove 77 and K5s all day long.

They are being 'tricky' and stuff.

I'm calling because I don't think he has JJ-KK very often, and has random junk that you are way ahead enough to compensate, and the rest of the time you are flipping

If you think he is decent then:
"What does he think I have?"

Also, have you been three betting a lot?

This looks just like one lag trying to flatcall and trap another with a big pocket pair. I want to know if this guy will play AK like this before I call here.

If he is capable of playing less than JJ+, AK like this then you should have seen evidence of it over 250 hands.

This is a spot at which you should try to find a fold. While plenty of people like to say he could have ATC because of the sometimes suboptimal play at micro levels, in fact you are almost never good here against the typical regular. And the guys who will play AK like this are usually easy to spot and should have already been noted.

IMO.
