Default 2/4 River Question

This was mistakenly posted in the NL forum by accident (I guess I'm not thinking straight at 3AM). This is SB's 2nd hand and I have no stats on him. BB is 30.4/26.1/8 through 23 hands. Did I wuss out on the river by checking?

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q, T.
6 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (6 SB) Q, J, 4 (3 players)

Turn: (6 BB) K (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

River: (8 BB) 7 (2 players)

Final Pot: 8 BB

i would bet the river. i don't think it's horrible to check because it get's you to showdown with 2nd pair midkicker and let's you see what this guy called down with, especially since your button will be on his BB(future steals, etc.). in other words if i bet that river, i'm folding to a raise.

Oops sorry. when I cut and pasted from the other forum it didn't copy the suits. The river completed a flush.
