I know we all like Jaws.. but does he know what matriculate means? I can't figure out how it makes any sense in the context he uses it in.

[/ QUOTE ]

Isn't this kind of an inside joke about Merril Hoge? I think it's about how Merril will often use the "word" on shows (like Edge NFL Matchup, NFL Live, and others of its kind) to describe an offense that methodically trickles the ball down the field with safe, short-ish type plays (check-offs) without turning the ball over. Keeping the chains moving.

If true, then Jaws is just (I guess) poking a little fun at Merril.

When Jaws said this, they way he said it, I thought it sounded like he intended it to be like a little jab, but also describing how Edwards was able to go through his progressions and keep the chains moving with these safe decisions.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's Hank Stram from the NFL Films feature on Super Bowl IV. He actually says, "Let's matriculate the ball down the field, boys."

[/ QUOTE ]

Ahh, that's right.

He's funnier today than Belushi was 30 years ago.

He isn't as funny as Belushi was 5 years ago.

Wait, maybe he means James Belushi? No, because that wouldn't be a compliment.

Well, since the quote was coming from Peter King, then he would have meant it as a compliment. Because if Peter King thinks Frank Caliendo is the funniest person alive, there's a good chance he thinks James Belushi is funny.

And oh yeah, Peter Kings is a terrible sports writer and a complete [censored] tard, regardless of the subject.

I like Peter King as a writer (I'm hooked on MMQB), but I almost threw up when he compared an impressionist to a comic genius.

It's Hank Stram from every NFL Films highlight compilation ever.

It drives me crazy that we can't go to YouTube, or NFL.com, or SOMEPLACE, and link to such a famous video clip.

seriously...the stuff NFL does to 'protect' their damn videos and property is just silly.
More play = more publicty guys.
Let people watch the old SB stuff on the internet as they please. This is a POSITIVE for the league.
It's not like you're making a killing selling DVD's of the Super Bowl IV highlights that we've all seen on NFL Films replays 8 zillion times already.

It's like the NFL is ultra-successful in spits of their best efforts in some areas to hold themselves back.

This thread is too good to let it fade into oblivion.

Radio announcer explaining a roughing the passer penalty against Ole Miss in today's Ole Miss-Alabama game: "Hardy was flagged for helmet-to-helmet contact to the head of John Parker Wilson."

In the Dallas/Pats game I think someone said..."Randy Moss is the only player to gain over 100 years in his first three games after being traded to a new team.." WTF, dod someone stay up all night to find this useless fact.

My all time favourite.

"If you tuned into CBS epecting to see 60 minutes, it will be shown in its entirety after the game (except on the west coast),"

Why don't they change this to..."If you tuned into CBS epecting to see 60 minutes, WTF were you thinking? When has 60 minutes ever started on time during NFL season? You are an idiot - now watch the game."

During the Mizzou/OU game after a play in which Mizzou used 2 TEs. "Let's go down to XXXX (some women on FSNs payroll) on the sidelines"

XXXX: "Yes, The Tigers 2 TE's that were used that play combine to 13 ft and 500 lbs, back to you in the booth."
