Look through Pokertracker if he 3-bets JJ/QQ/KK preflop. If yes good fold. If not I shove the flop or call flop raise and shove safe turn.

Please do not pay off obvious set mining, nor tell people you fold AA regardless if it is true.

Yeah, man. It screws your image. I prefer to be seen as a calling station than a big laydowner.

I think you see 99+ here from him often enough to put it in.

I think just because he's nitty preflop,
doesn't mean he's necessarily nitty post.

You say you have 1500 hands on him. I assume most of these are datamined? How many hands to you guys have actually playing with each other, how many during this particular session before this hand came up?

Has he been raising cbets every now and then on harmless looking boards, have you seen him bluff raising the flop at all? Have you been cbetting every flop you raise preflop regardless of the texture (for the most part)?

Overall against nits I just fold here and feel really weak about it. But with the proper conditions i'll call here to get it in on the turn.

I don't like raising to $12 either, since you're SPR is 8 on that scary board. if you're willing to commit against this player, then shove by all means, but it's up to your read.

if you could've raised to $20, do that next time(SPR of 5), much easier to commit

But what hands, after raising to $20, do you want to see our vill have? Probably JJ+. And we still don't know if our vill plays JJ+ this way. Even though the SPR around 5 makes it easier for us to commit we still need to have met certain conditions. In this case against this player we may want and SPR of even lower than 5.

I guess what I am trying to say is that thinking in terms of SPR is good for when you are trying to commit, but I think against some players SPRs could be lower and most importantly against some we are conditionally committed. This is probably one of those players. Against the MP for example we would be committed no matter what.

Raising to 10x the BB?? Aren't we going a little overboard with protecting our hand vs actually getting value from it?
