On fifth street, there are 40 ways that the other guy can have trip Queens, but only six ways that he can have, say, pocket Aces. I think checking behind is reasonable.

he checked 5th => trip 4s good

maybe ill change my mind if he raises my bet

checking behind = weak tight scared

andy, yes there are more combos of split Qs even with the dead Q, but his 3rd street play weights it more toward AA. yes, people are that predictable.
