I'd like to urge you to have a listen to these two lectures from the Mises Institute, to understand the long history behind state regulation and their real purposes:

ROFL!

Isn't it funny how countries that have state-managed health care industries like Canada, Scandinavia, the UK, etc. still allow people to play online poker, whereas the capitalist USA bans it?

Proof that people have more freedom under socialism, obviously.

Now ban plz.

lol you guys can have party. i'll take bellagio.com.

[/ QUOTE ]

Exactly. [censored] party when I can play at Harrah's Poker Room online. Imagine the possibilities.... online poker terminals within B&M Casinos in banks like slot machines....

[/ QUOTE ]

Is this what is going to happen if online poker becomes legalized?? 20bb/100 FTW

[/ QUOTE ]

Why couldn't something like this happen? Seems like it would be profitable for the B&M casinos.

part of why online poker is so profitable is that its very low cost to run an online poker room. if b&m wanted to put up terminals for online poker like slot machines i think there'd be much higher costs.
also, why would people want to go to a casino and play online poker, when they can play real poker on a table?

Isn't this horrible news? Even if PartyPoker comes back the gov't will tax it like income (like 25%) and it will be impossible to play for profit high than like .25/.50 .. You just won't have a big enough edge. I mean would Aba play people at 50/100+ where he has, say, a 5% edge if he's gonna get taxed 25%??

[/ QUOTE ]

can we start banning people for stupid posts?

[/ QUOTE ]

You guys are aware that you are supposed to pay income taxes now on winnings and if you get audited U R fuxxored, right?

I'd be perfectly happy if they withheld taxes for me. I plan on paying them anyway and it's a lot easier if they do it for you.
