The whole point of the "ZOMG SEC is soooo good" debate is that the depth of the conference is good that it makes it extremely difficult to win a national championship.

Also, the Pac-10 doesn't have anyone in title contention either, so I don't understand your point on this at all.

well, it's kinda like being an sf giants fan. after a while it becomes pointless rooting for my own team and all the joy of the sport becomes rooting against others

Oh and from 96-06 the SEC had 4 NC's with 3 being outright, while the Pac-10 had 2 with one being outright. And since 03 when the Pac-10 broke a 11 year title draught the SEC has had the same amount of titles/shared titles.

So again, I fail to see your point. All your doing is rubbing it in that one of Danny Ocean's hated teams lost.

I think a 4 team playoff (plus one) is the most likely/best solution to the problem.

It would eliminate a lot of the problems, and also keep the importance of the regular season intact.
